You notice it in the front camera first. Pores across your nose and cheeks, foundation settling into them by lunch, and a shine that shows up by mid-afternoon, worse on hot days. You have tried washing more, scrubbing harder and pore strips, and they look the same the next morning.

This serum does three things about it.

First, the PDRN. PDRN is short for polydeoxyribonucleotide: fragments of DNA, listed on the label as Sodium DNA. It is one of the big names in Korean skincare right now. Many PDRN products use salmon DNA. UIQ uses Cica PDRN instead, a plant-based "green DNA" taken from centella, the soothing herb also known as gotu kola. Here it works as part of a team, helping keep skin calm and comfortable.

Second, the ferment. Almost 30% of the bottle is ReliefBiome™, UIQ's skin microbiome ferment, cultured a bit like curd is from milk. Your skin has its own community of friendly bacteria, and UIQ builds every product around looking after it. Here, ReliefBiome™ is there to keep skin hydrated and calm.

Third, the pore team. 2% niacinamide (vitamin B3) works with a peptide and two other oil-balancing ingredients, the group UIQ built to keep oil in check and help pores look smaller and neater.

UIQ tested the result at a Korean skin testing lab. After 4 weeks, visible pore area was 31% smaller, there were 25% fewer visible pores, skin texture was 11% smoother and oil was 15% lower.* Results vary from person to person.

Oily skin is often thirsty underneath, and thirsty skin makes more oil. So the formula also carries ceramides, hyaluronic acid, centella, allantoin and panthenol (vitamin B5) to keep skin hydrated and calm, without any heaviness.

1. After cleansing and toning, put 3 to 4 drops on your fingertips.
2. Spread it gently over your whole face, then press it in over your nose, cheeks and anywhere your pores show most.
3. On those pore areas, you can add a second or third thin layer once the first has sunk in.
4. Follow with your moisturiser. In the morning, always finish with sunscreen.
5. Use it morning and night.
